Last week, Jarrett Anderson ’19 and rising senior Jeffrey Kwan were part of the Mountain View Volleyball Club team that captured the 18 Open Division national championship in Dallas. Anderson also was named the division MVP. Check out the story:

Cameron Zell and Taylor Lam, both grade 12, earned first team honors, with Anika Rajamani, grade 12, and Molly Mobley, grade 10, making the second team and Natasha Yen, grade 10, getting an honorable mention.
Baseball
Zach Hoffman, grade 12, Max Lee, grade 11, and Andrew Chavez, Levi Sutton and Nicholas Coulter, all grade 10, were each named to the first team, and Luke Wancewicz, grade 10, and Mark Hu, grade 9, made the second team.
Boys Tennis
The boys tennis team made it to the second round of CCS, led by first-teamers Ramanand Vegesna, Mihir Sharma and Richard Hu, all grade 11. Joshua Zhou, grade 11, and Shika Tseitlin, grade 9, made the second team, with Jack Hansen, grade 11, getting an honorable mention.
Boys Golf
Boys golf earned its sixth consecutive league championship (sharing it with Menlo this year) and finished sixth in CCS. Ashwin Rammohan, grade 12, Jaimin Bhagat, grade 11, and Aditya Tadimeti and Bryan Zhang, both grade 10, were all named to the first team, with Bradley Lu, grade 12, and Gabriel Yang and Bowen Yin, both grade 10, making the second team.
Lacrosse
The league champion lacrosse team featured Midfielder of the Year Elise Mayer, grade 12, along with first-teamers Heidi Zhang, grade 12, Nellie Tonev, grade 11, and Lisa Barooah and Anna Vazhaeparambil, both grade 10. Julia Amick, grade 12, and Piper White, grade 11, earned second team honors, with Zoe Sanders, grade 10, and Sarah Leafstrand, grade 9, receiving honorable mentions.
Track and Field
Alexa Lowe, grade 9, was the league champ in the triple jump and was named to the first team. Ayush Vyas, grade 12, and Gio Rofa, grade 11, each earned second team honors, with Anton Novikov, grade 10, Natasha Matta, grade 9, earning honorable mentions.
Boys Volleyball
Boys volleyball brought home the first team CCS championship in school history and took second place in NorCal for the second year in a row. Jarrett Anderson, grade 12, was named league Senior of the Year, and Billy Fan, grade 10, earned league Sophomore of the Year. Charlie Molin, grade 12, and Jeffrey Kwan, grade 11, were named to the first team, with Chris Gong, grade 12, earning second team recognition.
Swim
The boys swim team took third in CCS and fourth in state with Ethan Hu, grade 11, being named WBAL league MVP after setting numerous league, CCS and state records. Alex Yu, grade 12, and Jason Kwok, Matthew Chung and Rhys Edwards, all grade 10, were also recognized with first team honors for their top league and CCS finishes. Representing the girls swim team, Nikela Hulton, grade 9, was named to the second team.

Coming off its CCS D3 championship, the boys volleyball team soared through the first two rounds of the NorCal playoffs, defeating both Northgate and Bellarmine 3-0. That set up a finals matchup with league rival and No. 3 team in the nation Monta Vista. It was a grueling five-game match that ultimately went to the Matadors. The Eagles ended the season with a 34-6 record and a No. 4 ranking in the country.
Track and Field
Alexa Lowe, grade 9, was the lone Harker representative at the CCS Track and Field Championships last week. Lowe finished eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 34 feet 7 3/4 inches. Great job Alexa!
Boys Golf
The boys golf team finished in sixth place at the CCS finals last week. Bradley Lu, grade 12, led the way for the Eagles, shooting a 72 to end in a tie for seventh. Great job boys!
Boys Tennis
The doubles team of Mihir Sharma and Ramanand Vegesna, both grade 11, lost in their opening round CCS matchup with Carmel last Tuesday. Congrats on a great season!

It was another huge day for our Harker swimmers, this time at the state championships on Saturday. Ethan Hu, grade 11, and Matthew Chung, Rhys Edwards and Jason Kwok, all grade 10, laid down the best performance in Harker swimming history with a fourth place overall finish at the CIF State Championship.
Hu won the 200 individual medley, dropping almost three seconds and breaking the state record. Hu would go on to win the 100 fly in record time of 45.72, just missing the national high school record by 0.20. Chung was seventh in the 200 individual medley and ninth in the 500 free and dropped 2.69 from his prelim time. Kwok was third in the 100 breaststroke, dropping 1:46 from his prelim swim. Edwards was in both the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay as the anchor. The relays swam 20.92 and 20.95, respectively, placing third and fourth.

Boys Volleyball
The boys volleyball team blew through the CCS D3 brackets, defeating Sacred Heart Prep, Pacific Collegiate and Carmel, all 3-0, to become the first CCS team champions in Harker history. The Eagles head into the NorCal D1 playoffs as the No. 2 seed and host Northgate of Walnut Creek on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Track and Field
Congrats to Ayush Vyas, grade 12, who finished at No. 31 in CCS in the shot put and Gio Rofa, grade 11, who finished at No. 29 in CCS in the triple jump. But the story of the day was Alexa Lowe, grade 9, who qualified for the triple jump finals on Friday at Gilroy High with her top 10 performance. Congrats to Ayush and Gio, and good luck to Alexa.
Baseball
The baseball team ended the regular season on a high note with a 17-1 win over Westmoor and a 14-9 win over Thomas More to finish the year with a 15-8 record. In the win over Westmoor, Zach Hoffman, grade 12, Max Lee, grade 11, and Luke Wancewicz, grade 10, each drove in two runs, while four pitchers combined for a one-hitter. The Eagles just missed out on the CCS playoffs, but congrats on a great season.
Softball
The softball team started its week with an 11-5 loss to Mercy Burlingame, but ended the week and season on a high note with a dramatic 23-22 win over Notre Dame San Jose. After falling 2-19 in the fifth inning, the Eagles exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the fifth, eight runs in the sixth and four runs in the bottom of the seventh to win. Huge games from Cameron Zell, grade 12, and Molly Mobley, grade 10, who each had four hits and four RBIs, and Natasha Yen, grade 10, who added four RBIs on two hits.
Lacrosse
The lacrosse team headed into the WBAL tournament as league champs, but after defeating Aragon 7-6, fell to Woodside 6-9 to end the season. The Eagles were 14-4 on the year.
Boys Tennis
The doubles team of Ramanand Vegesna and Mihir Sharma, both grade 11, will begin their CCS tennis journey as they face the duo from Carmel on Tuesday.

The boys golf team fell to Valley Christian 227-210 before defeating Menlo 179-184 to become co-league champs, which gives the Eagles six straight league championship titles. Bryan Zhang, grade 10, shot a personal best 1-under-par 34 to earn his first career medalist honors. The Eagles will compete at the WBAL Championships on Wednesday.
Baseball
The Eagles started the week with a 10-8 non-league victory over Del Mar with Zach Hoffman, grade 12, and Max Lee, grade 11, each driving in two runs on two hits. The team then dropped a 2-7 matchup with Jefferson, with Levi Sutton and Nick Coulter, both grade 10, each driving in a run. Finally, the Eagles fell to Independence 4-5. This week, the team hosts Crystal Springs Uplands on Tuesday before traveling to South San Francisco on Thursday.
Boys Tennis
The boys tennis team lost its regular season matchup with Menlo 0-7 last week before starting the WBAL Individual Tournament. The doubles team of Ramanand Vegesna and Mihir Sharma, both grade 11, fell short in the doubles finals and hopes to make the CCS Doubles Championships as an at-large team. CCS begins this Friday.
Lacrosse
The lacrosse team defeated Salinas 16-9 and Carlmont 13-12 last week to improve to an impressive 11-3 on the season. The girls wrap up the regular season this week as they host Notre Dame Belmont on Tuesday before traveling to Woodside Priory on Thursday.
Track and Field
The WBAL Track and Field Championship begin on Tuesday with the finals on Friday.
Boys Volleyball
The boys volleyball team defeated Los Gatos 3-0 in its sole matchup last week. It’s a big week for the Eagles as they wrap up the regular season by facing off with league rival and top CCS team Monta Vista on Tuesday before Senior Night against Los Altos on Wednesday.
Swim
Harker swimmers competed at the WBAL Championships at Sacred Heart last week with some great results. Matthew Chung, grade 10, Rhys Edwards, grade 10, and Alex Yu, grade 12, went 1-2-7 in the 200 freestyle. Chung broke the 9-year-old WBAL record, smashing the old time by four seconds and qualifying for the state meet. Ihita Mandal, grade 12, made the consolation finals in the 200 free and dropped eight seconds off her time. Nikela Hulton, grade 9, placed sixth in the 200 IM, dropping six seconds from her time and later placed second in the 100 fly, making CCS cuts in both events. Nageena Singh, grade 9, placed seventh, making the finals in the 100 fly. Ethan Hu, grade 11, Chung, and Edwards went 1-2-3 in the 100 fly with Hu breaking his own 2018 WBAL record. Yu took first in the 500 free. Jason Kwok, grade 10, took first in the 100 breast. The CCS Championship trials begin on Friday.
Softball
The softball team lost to Pinewood 1-11 and The King’s Academy 2-18 last week. This week, the Eagles host Fremont on Monday and travel to Mercy SF on Tuesday.

Before the break, the lacrosse team picked up two big league wins to go to 6-2 on the season. The Eagles defeated Aragon 4-2 and Notre Dame San Jose 10-6 to run their winning streak to four games. This week, the girls host Mercy Burlingame on Tuesday and travel to Sacred Heart Cathedral on Friday.
Baseball
The boys baseball team has been on an absolute tear over the last few weeks, defeating its last three opponents by a combined score of 40-4. Before the break, the Eagles defeated Summit Rainier 11-1 with Luke Wancewicz, grade 10, driving in four runs on two hits. Later in the week, the Eagles defeated Westmoor 13-2, with Wancewicz again leading the way with four RBIs, this time on three hits. Then over the break, the team took care of ACE Charter 16-1 to improve to 8-3 on the year. This week, the Eagles travel to South San Francisco on Tuesday and host SSF on Thursday.
Boys Volleyball
The boys volleyball team continued to dominate before the break as it took care of Los Altos and Lynbrook, both 3-0. Then over this past weekend, the Eagles took on some of the best competition in California at the Bellarmine Tournament. The boys went 2-0 on day one, defeating Valley Christian and South Pasadena. Day 2 started with a loss to St. Francis, but picked up as the Eagles defeated Madera South, Valley Christian and Homestead to finish ninth out of 22 teams. This week, the boys host Mountain View on Wednesday.

Boys Tennis
Just before spring break, the boys tennis team continued to roll as it picked up its sixth and seventh consecutive wins. The Eagles are off this week before wrapping up league play next week.
Track and Field
The Eagles traveled to The King’s Academy before the break to compete against the rest of the WBAL at the second meet of the year. Anton Novikov, grade 10, posted two wins and a second place finish; Andrew Chen, grade 9, and Gio Rofa, grade 11, placed first and second in the triple jump; Alexa Lowe, grade 9, set another school record in the triple jump; Erica Cai, grade 9, won her mile race; Kismet Singh and Zoey Rosa, both grade 11, finished second and third in the 100-meter hurdles. The track and field team then competed at the Firebird Invitational at Fremont High. Ritika Rajamani, Ashley Barth and Erica Cai, all grade 9, placed third, fourth and fifith in the frosh-soph 2 mile run, and Bayden Yazalina, grade 10, won his 400-meter heat. This Saturday, the track and field team heads to San Mateo for the Bearcat Invitational.
Boys Golf
The boys golf team picked up a 202-269 win over Crystal Springs Uplands just before the break with Bradley Lu, grade 12, shooting a 32 to earn medalist honors. This week, the Eagles take on Sacred Heart Prep on Monday.
Softball
Before the break, the Eagles suffered a 14-2 loss to The King’s Academy before picking up a win via forfeit to Mercy SF. The 2-7 Eagles are back in action this week with a game at Notre Dame San Jose on Tuesday.

Boys Golf
The boys golf team took care of Sacred Heart Prep last week with a 204-229 victory. This week, the Eagles take on Crystal Springs Uplands on Wednesday before traveling to Indio for the Champions Invitational over the weekend.
Lacrosse
The lacrosse team defeated Sequoia 12-3 in its sole matchup last week. The 4-2 Eagles host Aragon on Tuesday and Notre Dame San Jose on Thursday.
Baseball
Last week, the baseball team picked up two big league wins to improve to 5-3 on the season. First, the Eagles defeated Jefferson 6-5 with Levi Sutton, grade 10, Bobby Wang, grade 9, Max Lee, grade 11, Nick Coulter, grade 10, and Luke Wancewicz, grade 10, each driving in a run. Later in the week, Harker defeated Crystal Springs Uplands 16-7 with Lee driving in four runs and Coulter adding three more RBIs. This week, the Eagles travel to Woodside on Monday before hosting Summit Rainier on Tuesday and Westmoor on Friday.
Boys Volleyball
It was an up and down week for the boys volleyball team. After defeating Los Gatos 3-0, the Eagles were ranked first in CCS and No. 7 in the nation (watch the highlights!). However, the boys faced off with rival Monta Vista later in the week and dropped a heartbreaking five-set match. Then over the weekend, the Eagles took on some of the best local competition at the Monta Vista Tournament. The Eagles defeated Clovis, The King’s Academy and perennial CCS powerhouses St. Francis and Bellarmine to advance to the finals against host Monta Vista. But there was no redemption for the Eagles as they fell to the Matadores to take second place. The 18-3 Eagles travel to Los Altos on Wednesday and host Lynbrook on Friday.
Boys Tennis
The boys tennis team picked up two more league wins last week to improve to 7-1 on the season. The Eagles defeated Crystal Springs Uplands 5-2 and The King’s Academy 6-1. This week, the Eagles host Sacred Heart Prep on Monday and travel to Aragon on Wednesday.
Swim

Track and Field
Zoey Rosa, grade 11, set a school record in the demanding 400-meter hurdles on Saturday at DeAnza College. Alexa Lowe, grade 9, set a frosh school record with her 15′ 1.5″ long jump. The boys 4×100 relay team medaled for the second week in a row, improving its season’s best of 46.03, placing second in the varsity boys race. Gio Rofa, grade 11, and Andrew Chen, grade 9, both went past 17′ in the long jump. Nikki Solanki, grade 11, returned to her usual good form, winning her heat in the 100, running under 14 seconds.
The team competes Tuesday at The King’s Academy in a WBAL league meet, then at Fremont High School on Saturday in the Firebird Invitational.
Softball
The softball team dropped its only game last week 7-18 to Mercy Burlingame to go to 1-6 on the year. This week, the Eagles travel to The King’s Academy on Tuesday and host Mercy SF on Thursday.
