The girls basketball team picked up two big league wins last week bringing their season record to 8-7 and moving them into a first place tie in the WBAL. The Eagles opened the week with a 62-49 win over Mercy SF with Cindy Su, grade 10, scoring 15 points, and Leisha Devisetti, grade 9, and Maria Vazhaeparambil, grade 11, each scoring 14 points. Later in the week, the girls defeated Notre Dame San Jose 47-41. This week, the Eagles host Lincoln on Wednesday and Castilleja on Friday.
Boys Basketball
The boys basketball team went to 6-9 on the season after two league losses last week. The boys fell to Woodside Priory 52-31 and Eastside College Prep 65-55. Jack Connors, grade 12, led the team with 20 points and five rebounds in the loss to Eastside College Prep. This week, the boys travel to Menlo on Tuesday and host The King’s Academy on Friday.
Boys Soccer
The boys soccer team dominated in their two league wins last week. The Eagles defeated Crystal Springs Uplands 4-0 and Eastside College Prep 6-0 to go to 8-1-1 on the year, remaining in a first place tie in the WBAL. This week, the Eagles host Sacred Heart Prep on Wednesday for sole possession of first place, and travel to Menlo on Friday.
Girls Soccer
The girls soccer team was on fire last week as they defeated Crystal Springs Uplands 4-1, Pinewood 3-1 and Mercy SF 7-1. The three wins improved the Eagle’s record to 7-0-3 moving them into first place in the WBAL. This week, the Eagles host Pinewood on Tuesday and Castilleja on Friday.

Boys Basketball
The boys basketball team dropped all three of its games last week, falling to 6-7 on the year. In a 41-52 loss to Pinewood, Jack Connors, grade 12, led the team with 13 points and six steals. Then in a 45-79 loss to Sacred Heart Prep, Arjun Virmani, grade 11, led the scoring with 13 points. Finally, the Eagles finished the week with a 37-47 loss to Crystal Springs Uplands with Giovanni Rofa, grade 12, leading the offense with 10 points. This week, the boys travel to Woodside Priory on Tuesday before hosting Eastside College Prep on Thursday.
After an historic 2018-19 athletic season, Harker was named the California D4 School of the Year by CalHiSports.com. The honor comes thanks, in part, to a fourth place finish at the state swimming finals for the boys team, including two first place state championships for Ethan Hu, now grade 12; the boys volleyball team winning the school’s first CCS team title and finishing second at the NorCal finals for the second year in a row, ending the season as the No. 4 team in the nation; the girls golf team taking second in CCS and seventh in NorCals, with Natalie Vo, grade 11, earning a spot at the state finals in her sophomore year; and the girls volleyball team taking second in CCS, advancing to the NorCal tournament. In addition, girls lacrosse and boys soccer played deep into the post season and girls and boys basketball, girls tennis and girls water polo each reached the CCS playoffs.

The boys basketball team went 2-1 over break to improve to 6-4 on the season. The Eagles started with a 71-40 win over University Prep with Jack Connors, grade 12, leading the team with 17 points and Giovanni Rofa, grade 12, adding 12 points. The boys then took care of ACE Charter 89-20 with Marcus Anderson, grade 11, and Arjun Virmani, grade 11, each scoring 14 points. The Eagles ended the break with a 41-55 loss to Pacific Bay Christian with Virmani leading the way with 11 points. This week, the Eagles travel to Pinewood on Tuesday, host Sacred Heart Prep on Thursday and travel to Crystal Springs Uplands on Saturday.

The boys soccer team defeated Harbor 4-0 before the break to improve to 5-1 on the year. This week, the Eagles host Leland on Wednesday and Priory on Friday for the Kicks Against Cancer game.

The girls soccer team improved to 3-0-2 as it defeated ACE Charter 7-0 before the break. This week, the girls host Eastside College Prep on Tuesday and Notre Dame San Jose on Friday for the Kicks Against Cancer game.

The girls basketball team went 2-2 over the last few weeks to go to 4-6 on the season. The Eagles started the break with a 1-2 showing at the John Araujo Memorial Tournament, with a win over Fremont 30-24, before falling to Del Mar 36-56 and Mountain View 29-40. Finally, the Eagles defeated Immaculate Conception Academy 67-63 on Saturday. This week, the girls travel to Mercy Burlingame on Tuesday, Crystal Springs Uplands on Thursday and The King’s Academy on Saturday.
In its only game of the week, the boys basketball team defeated St. Thomas More 56-40 to go to 4-3 on the season. Jack Connors, grade 12, led the Eagles with a game-high 21 points. This week, the boys host University Prep on Friday.

The girls soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with Pacific Collegiate and defeated Andrew Hill 2-1 last week to bring its season record to 2-0-2 on the year. The Eagles host Ace Charter on Friday.

Last week, the boys soccer team picked up a big 3-0 win over Lynbrook before falling to Valley Christian 0-2. The Eagles travel to Harbor High this Friday night.
Last week, the girls basketball team defeated Pioneer High 65-46 to pick up its first win of the season. This week, the Eagles host Silver Creek on Friday.
The boys soccer team improved to 3-0 on the young season as it defeated Monta Vista 3-1 and Santa Clara 1-0 last week. This week, the Eagles host Lynbrook on Wednesday and travel to Valley Christian on Friday.

Last week, the girls soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with Harbor and a 7-0 win over Independence in its opening games of the season. This week, the Eagles host Pacific Collegiate on Tuesday and Andrew Hill on Thursday.
Boys Basketball
The boys basketball team went 1-2 in the James Lick Tournament over the weekend to go to 3-3 on the season. In the opening game, the Eagles lost to American High 45-48 with Jack Connors, grade 12, leading the way with 15 points. The boys then defeated host James Lick 52-27 with Arjun Virmani, grade 11, scoring 14 points. In the final game, the Eagles fell to Fremont 48-52 with Giovanni Rofa, grade 12, scoring 14 points. This week, the boys host St. Thomas More High School on Wednesday night.
Girls Basketball
The girls basketball team is back in action this week with a home game against Pioneer on Wednesday.
Congrats to Anna Weirich, grade 11, who had a great showing at the state cross country finals over the weekend, finishing 19th out of the top 212 D4 girls runners in California.
Boys Basketball
The boys basketball team went 2-1 on its road trip to Hawaii over the break. The Eagles started the week with a win over Seabury Hall 55-49 with Jack Connors, grade 12, leading the way with 15 points. Then the boys dropped a 51-53 matchup with King Kekaulike as Arjun Virmani, grade 11, led the scoring with 17 points, adding seven rebounds and four steals. The Eagles finished their trip with a 61-42 win over Maui High with Connors and Virmani each scoring 14 points. Girls Basketball
The girls basketball team dropped all three games during its trip to Maui last week. In their first contest, the Eagles were defeated by Seabury Hall 26-70 with Gianna Chan, grade 10, and Sara Sullivan, grade 12, each scoring six points. The girls then fell to King Kekaulike 32-56 as Maria Vazhaeparambil, grade 11, led the scoring with seven points. In their final game against Maui High, the girls were defeated 24-67. The Eagles are back in action on Dec. 11 as they host Pioneer.
Boys Soccer
The boys soccer team opened its season with a 3-2 win over Saratoga last week. The Eagles travel to Monta Vista on Tuesday before hosting Santa Clara on Thursday.
Girls Soccer
The girls soccer season opener was postponed last week, so the Eagles will make their 2019-20 debut on Wednesday as they host Harbor, followed by a trip to Independence on Friday.
Last week, the girls volleyball team dominated in its run through CCS as it defeated Pacific Grove, Harbor and Sacred Heart Prep all 3-0 on its way to the D4 CCS championship. This is just the second CCS team title in Harker history! The Eagles were bumped up to D2 for the NorCal tournament and will travel to Modesto to face off with Central Catholic on Tuesday night.
Girls Golf
Last week, the girls golf team had its best finish in Harker history as it ended the season with a fifth place finish at the NorCal Regionals. Although the team season came to an end, Natalie Vo, grade 11, and Claire Chen, grade 9, each shot a 3-over-par 75 and qualified for the state championships that will be held at Pebble Beach on Nov. 19.
Girls Tennis
The girls tennis team defeated ND Belmont 7-0 in a WBAL playoff match last week. The win helped push the Eagles into CCS where they open at Salinas High on Monday.
Cross Country
The cross country team competed at the WBAL finals last week and, for the first time since 2015, the girls team qualified for CCS with Anna Weirich, grade 11, leading the way with a third place finish in the girls varsity race. Rigo Gonzales, grade 9, placed 14th in the varsity boys race and qualified as an individual for CCS. The CCS finals will be held on Saturday at Crystal Springs Cross Country Course.
Scholastic Teams
Each season, CCS honors the teams that produce the highest GPA in their specific sport. For the fall season, Harker boys cross country (3.953) and football (3.554) each finished with the highest GPA in their sports, and boys water polo (3.670) finished third. Congratulations to our amazing student athletes!

Middle School Golf: The middle school golf team took second place in the WBAL fall tournament. The top Harker golfer was Ryan Zhang, grade 8 (35), followed by Yu Bai, grade 8 (37), Allison Yang, grade 7 (38) and Ashley Mo, grade 6 (39).
VA (grade 8) Flag Football: The Varsity A team, coached by Randy LeGris and Mike Delfino, finished in eighth place in the WBAL with a record of 0-5 and went 0-7 overall. Team awards went to Ryan Barth (MVP), Kevin Bettencourt (Eagle) and Om Tandon (Coaches).
VB (grade 7) Flag Football: The Varsity B team, coached by Tim Hopkins and Dini Wong, finished in fourth place in the WBAL with a 3-2-1 record and went 3-3-1 overall. Team awards went to Vyom Vidyarthi (MVP), Bowen Xia (Eagle) and Drew Diffenderfer (Coaches).
JVA (grade 6) Flag Football: The Junior Varsity A team, coached by Richard Amarillas, finished in fourth place in the WBAL with a 3-3 league record. Team awards went to Brennan Williams and Rishaan Thoppay (MVP), Topaz Lee (Eagle) and Ritik Raman (Coaches).
JVB (grade 5) Flag Football: The Junior Varsity B team, coached by Karriem Stinson and Tobias Wade, finished in second place in the WBAL with a 3-1 league record and went 4-1 overall. Team awards went to Mason Brooks (MVP), David Kelly and Zackary Delfino (Eagle).
LS Intramural Flag Football (grade 4): Team awards went to Nicky Kerko and Reid Bardin (Eagle) and Ricardo Sanchez (Coaches). The team was coached by Walid Fahmy.
VA (grade 6-8) Softball: The Varsity A team, coached by Adam Albers and Raul Rios, finished in second place in the WBAL with a record of 4-1 and went 4-2 overall. Team awards went to Keren Eisenberg, grade 7 (MVP), Angelina Burrows, grade 7 (Eagle) and Kira Bardin, grade 6 (Coaches).
JVA (grade 4-5) Softball: The Junior Varsity A team, coached by Jon Cvitanich, Megan Regan and Colleen Campbell, finished in first place in the WBAL with a record of 3-1. Team awards went to Raeanne Li, grade 5 (MVP), Keira Kelly, grade 5 (Eagle) and Ameera Ramzan, grade 5 (Coaches).
VA (grade 6-8) Girls Lacrosse: The Varsity A team, coached by Morgan Smith and Hannah Grannis, competed in a number of friendly tournaments and a few solo matches with other schools this season. The team went from six participants last year to more than 20 this year! Team awards went to Kate Grannis, grade 8 (MVP), Abby Lim, grade 7 (Eagle) and Shaina Cohen, grade 6 (Coaches).
Last week, the girls golf team stayed red hot as it took third in CCS and will head to the NorCal regionals on Monday. Natalie Vo, grade 11, led the way for the Eagles, shooting a 72 and finishing fifth in CCS. A top three finish at NoCals would send the girls to the state finals later this month.
Girls Water Polo
The girls water polo team dominated the early rounds of the SCVAL Tournament as it defeated Cupertino 17-1 and Wilcox 11-1 before falling to Santa Clara 3-8 in the finals. The Eagles ended their season with a 20-4 record.
Girls Volleyball
The girls volleyball team ended the regular season with a 3-0 win over Castilleja, improving its record to 18-8. The Eagles earned the No. 3 seed in the D4 CCS playoffs and will host Pacific Grove on Tuesday night.
Boys Water Polo
In the SCVAL Tournament, the boys water polo team defeated Fremont 11-5 before falling to Santa Clara 5-10. The Eagles then fell to Cupertino 12-13 in their final match of the tournament. The boys finish up the year with a 17-12 record.
Girls Tennis
The girls tennis team takes on Notre Dame Belmont in a WBAL playoff on Tuesday.
Cross Country
On Friday, the cross country team heads to Crystal Springs Cross Country Park for the WBAL Finals.
Football
The final football game of the season was cancelled at El Molino due to the air quality caused by the fires. The Eagles finish the year with a 1-5-1 record.
