Boys golf wins sixth consecutive league title, spring sports wraps up regular season

Boys Golf

The boys golf team fell to Valley Christian 227-210 before defeating Menlo 179-184 to become co-league champs, which gives the Eagles six straight league championship titles. Bryan Zhang, grade 10, shot a personal best 1-under-par 34 to earn his first career medalist honors. The Eagles will compete at the WBAL Championships on Wednesday.

Baseball

The Eagles started the week with a 10-8 non-league victory over Del Mar with Zach Hoffman, grade 12, and Max Lee, grade 11, each driving in two runs on two hits. The team then dropped a 2-7 matchup with Jefferson, with Levi Sutton and Nick Coulter, both grade 10, each driving in a run. Finally, the Eagles fell to Independence 4-5. This week, the team hosts Crystal Springs Uplands on Tuesday before traveling to South San Francisco on Thursday.

Boys Tennis

The boys tennis team lost its regular season matchup with Menlo 0-7 last week before starting the WBAL Individual Tournament. The doubles team of Ramanand Vegesna and Mihir Sharma, both grade 11, fell short in the doubles finals and hopes to make the CCS Doubles Championships as an at-large team. CCS begins this Friday.

Lacrosse

The lacrosse team defeated Salinas 16-9 and Carlmont 13-12 last week to improve to an impressive 11-3 on the season. The girls wrap up the regular season this week as they host Notre Dame Belmont on Tuesday before traveling to Woodside Priory on Thursday.

Track and Field

The WBAL Track and Field Championship begin on Tuesday with the finals on Friday.

Boys Volleyball

The boys volleyball team defeated Los Gatos 3-0 in its sole matchup last week. It’s a big week for the Eagles as they wrap up the regular season by facing off with league rival and top CCS team Monta Vista on Tuesday before Senior Night against Los Altos on Wednesday.

Swim

Harker swimmers competed at the WBAL Championships at Sacred Heart last week with some great results. Matthew Chung, grade 10, Rhys Edwards, grade 10, and Alex Yu, grade 12, went 1-2-7 in the 200 freestyle. Chung broke the 9-year-old WBAL record, smashing the old time by four seconds and qualifying for the state meet. Ihita Mandal, grade 12, made the consolation finals in the 200 free and dropped eight seconds off her time. Nikela Hulton, grade 9, placed sixth in the 200 IM, dropping six seconds from her time and later placed second in the 100 fly, making CCS cuts in both events. Nageena Singh, grade 9, placed seventh, making the finals in the 100 fly. Ethan Hu, grade 11, Chung, and Edwards went 1-2-3 in the 100 fly with Hu breaking his own 2018 WBAL record. Yu took first in the 500 free. Jason Kwok, grade 10, took first in the 100 breast. The CCS Championship trials begin on Friday.

Softball

The softball team lost to Pinewood 1-11 and The King’s Academy 2-18 last week. This week, the Eagles host Fremont on Monday and travel to Mercy SF on Tuesday.

Harker teams heating up heading into the final few weeks of league play

Lacrosse

Before the break, the lacrosse team picked up two big league wins to go to 6-2 on the season. The Eagles defeated Aragon 4-2 and Notre Dame San Jose 10-6 to run their winning streak to four games. This week, the girls host Mercy Burlingame on Tuesday and travel to Sacred Heart Cathedral on Friday.

Baseball

The boys baseball team has been on an absolute tear over the last few weeks, defeating its last three opponents by a combined score of 40-4. Before the break, the Eagles defeated Summit Rainier 11-1 with Luke Wancewicz, grade 10, driving in four runs on two hits. Later in the week, the Eagles defeated Westmoor 13-2, with Wancewicz again leading the way with four RBIs, this time on three hits. Then over the break, the team took care of ACE Charter 16-1 to improve to 8-3 on the year. This week, the Eagles travel to South San Francisco on Tuesday and host SSF on Thursday.

Boys Volleyball

The boys volleyball team continued to dominate before the break as it took care of Los Altos and Lynbrook, both 3-0. Then over this past weekend, the Eagles took on some of the best competition in California at the Bellarmine Tournament. The boys went 2-0 on day one, defeating Valley Christian and South Pasadena. Day 2 started with a loss to St. Francis, but picked up as the Eagles defeated Madera South, Valley Christian and Homestead to finish ninth out of 22 teams. This week, the boys host Mountain View on Wednesday.

Boys Tennis

Just before spring break, the boys tennis team continued to roll as it picked up its sixth and seventh consecutive wins. The Eagles are off this week before wrapping up league play next week.

Track and Field

The Eagles traveled to The King’s Academy before the break to compete against the rest of the WBAL at the second meet of the year. Anton Novikov, grade 10, posted two wins and a second place finish; Andrew Chen, grade 9, and Gio Rofa, grade 11, placed first and second in the triple jump; Alexa Lowe, grade 9, set another school record in the triple jump; Erica Cai, grade 9, won her mile race; Kismet Singh and Zoey Rosa, both grade 11, finished second and third in the 100-meter hurdles. The track and field team then competed at the Firebird Invitational at Fremont High. Ritika Rajamani, Ashley Barth and Erica Cai, all grade 9, placed third, fourth and fifith in the frosh-soph 2 mile run, and Bayden Yazalina, grade 10, won his 400-meter heat. This Saturday, the track and field team heads to San Mateo for the Bearcat Invitational.

Boys Golf

The boys golf team picked up a 202-269 win over Crystal Springs Uplands just before the break with Bradley Lu, grade 12, shooting a 32 to earn medalist honors. This week, the Eagles take on Sacred Heart Prep on Monday.

Softball

Before the break, the Eagles suffered a 14-2 loss to The King’s Academy before picking up a win via forfeit to Mercy SF. The 2-7 Eagles are back in action this week with a game at Notre Dame San Jose on Tuesday.

Swim

Harker swimmers took on Priory, The King’s Academy, Nueva, Castilleja, and Mercy SF on the Thursday before the break. The varsity girls went second and first in the 200 medley relay and 200 free relay. Nikela Hulton and Ysabel Chen, both grade 9, went second and third in the 200 IM. Chen added a third place in the 50 free. Ainsley Millard, grade 9, kept her winning streak going in the 50 fly. The varsity boys were first in the 200 medley relay, followed up by wins  from Alex Yu, grade 12, in the 200 and 100 free. Jay Thilking, grade 9, was second in the 200 IM. Matthew Chung and Jason Kwok, both grade 10, went first and second in the 50 free with Chung also winning the 100 back. Arnav Joshi, grade 11, was third in the 100 free. Rhys Edwards, grade 10, won the 100 fly. Andrew Chang, grade 12, took the 500 free. Harker went one-two-three on the 100 breast for Kwok, Edwards and Andrew Chang, grade 10. Special recognition for Matthew Chung and Rhys Edwards, who qualified for CCS in every event. This week, the Eagles host The King’s Academy on Thursday and compete at the Palo Alto Sectional Challenge over the weekend.

Impressive week for spring athletics; winter All-League teams announced

Boys Golf

The boys golf team took care of Sacred Heart Prep last week with a 204-229 victory. This week, the Eagles take on Crystal Springs Uplands on Wednesday before traveling to Indio for the Champions Invitational over the weekend.

Lacrosse

The lacrosse team defeated Sequoia 12-3 in its sole matchup last week. The 4-2 Eagles host Aragon on Tuesday and Notre Dame San Jose on Thursday.

Baseball

Last week, the baseball team picked up two big league wins to improve to 5-3 on the season. First, the Eagles defeated Jefferson 6-5 with Levi Sutton, grade 10, Bobby Wang, grade 9, Max Lee, grade 11, Nick Coulter, grade 10, and Luke Wancewicz, grade 10, each driving in a run. Later in the week, Harker defeated Crystal Springs Uplands 16-7 with Lee driving in four runs and Coulter adding three more RBIs. Boys Volleyball

It was an up and down week for the boys volleyball team. After defeating Los Gatos 3-0, the Eagles were ranked first in CCS and No. 7 in the nation (watch the highlights!). However, the boys faced off with rival Monta Vista later in the week and dropped a heartbreaking five-set match. Then over the weekend, the Eagles took on some of the best local competition at the Monta Vista Tournament. The Eagles defeated Clovis, The King’s Academy and perennial CCS powerhouses St. Francis and Bellarmine to advance to the finals against host Monta Vista. But there was no redemption for the Eagles as they fell to the Matadores to take second place. The 18-3 Eagles travel to Los Altos on Wednesday and host Lynbrook on Friday.

Boys Tennis

The boys tennis team picked up two more league wins last week to improve to 7-1 on the season. The Eagles defeated Crystal Springs Uplands 5-2 and The King’s Academy 6-1. This week, the Eagles host Sacred Heart Prep on Monday and travel to Aragon on Wednesday.

Swim

Last week, the Harker swim team took on six teams at the latest WBAL Jamboree. Highlights included:

  • The girls 400 relay team took first place, with the medley relay team taking second and the 200 free relay team taking third.
  • The boys won the 200 medley and 200 free relays and took second in the 400 free relay.
  • Matthew Chung, grade 10, won the 100 free and 100 breast.
  • Rhys Edwards, grade 10, won the 200 individual medley and the 500 free.
  • Alex Yu, grade 12, took second in the 200 individual medley and third in the 500 free.
  • Andrew Chang, grade 12, was third in the 100 breast.
  • Jay Thilking, grade 9, took second in the 50 back.
  • Ethan Hu, grade 11, took first in both the 100 fly and 100 back.
  • Nikela Hulton, grade 9, and Ysabel Chen, grade 9, went 1-2 in the 200 individual medley.
  • Hulton, Nageena Singh, grade 9, and Katie Li, grade 10, went 1-2-3 in the 100 fly.

This week, Harker swimmers head to Priory on Thursday for another WBAL Jamboree.

Track and Field

Zoey Rosa, grade 11, set a school record in the demanding 400-meter hurdles on Saturday at DeAnza College. Alexa Lowe, grade 9, set a frosh school record with her 15′ 1.5″ long jump. The boys 4×100 relay team medaled for the second week in a row, improving its season’s best of 46.03, placing second in the varsity boys race. Gio Rofa, grade 11, and Andrew Chen, grade 9, both went past 17′ in the long jump. Nikki Solanki, grade 11, returned to her usual good form, winning her heat in the 100, running under 14 seconds.

The team competes Tuesday at The King’s Academy in a WBAL league meet, then at Fremont High School on Saturday in the Firebird Invitational.

Softball

The softball team dropped its only game last week 7-18 to Mercy Burlingame to go to 1-6 on the year. This week, the Eagles travel to The King’s Academy on Tuesday and host Mercy SF on Thursday.

Winter All-League

The Harker winter teams had great success this past season and it showed as many Eagles were honored with All-League awards:

  • The boys basketball team qualified for CCS and was name a CCS Academic Champion. Jack Connors, grade 11, was given first team honors to represent Harker.
  • The girls basketball team also qualified for CCS with Akhila Ramgiri, grade 12, earning first team honors. Maria Vazhaeparambil, grade 10, and Lily Wancewicz, grade 12, also earned honorable mentions.
  • The boys soccer team reached the semis of CCS thanks to help from first team honorees Jared Anderson, grade 12, and Andrew Cheplyansky, grade 11, as well as second team honorees Sasvath Ramachandran, grade 9, and Edwin Su, grade 12. Jeffrey Fung and Brandon Lin, both grade 11, were also given honorable mentions.
  • The girls soccer team was also well-represented with Julia Amick, grade 12, receiving a first team award, Ria Gupta, grade 12, earning second team, and Cameron Zell and Lilia Gonzales, both grade 12, receiving honorable mentions.

Good showing for track and field and swim in first league meets

Track and Field

The Eagle track and field team competed at the first league meet of the year last week at Sacred Heart Prep with some fine results. Natasha Matta, grade 9, won her two first-ever hurdle races; Alexa Lowe, grade 9, won her race in the 800-meter and was within a foot of the school record in the triple jump; Ayush Vyas, grade 12, won both the discus and shot put, where he set a new personal best; the boys 400m relay team made up of Andrew Chen, grade 9; Anton Novikov, grade 10; Mitchell Granados, grade 12; and Gio Rofa, grade 11, won their race; and Brittany Shou, grade 9, set a personal best in the discus.

Then, over the weekend, the Eagles traveled to Mountain View to compete at the St. Francis Invitational. Novikov placed second in the 100m frosh-soph sprint against some of the best runners in the south Bay, setting the third fastest sophomore mark at Harker; Aditya Singhvi, grade 10; Alex Rule, grade 12; Ryan Adolf, grade 12; and Arya Maheshwari, grade 10, placed in the top 20 in the distance medley relay with the second best mark in Harker history.

The Eagles compete again on March 26 at The King’s Academy for WBAL meet No. 2.

Swim

The Harker swimmers hosted the first WBAL jamboree of the year as Crystal Springs Uplands, Notre Dame SJ and Notre Dame Belmont visited Singh Aquatic Center. Highlights included:

  • Ysabel Chen, grade 9, won the 100 free and was second in the 100 breast.
  • Nikela Hulton, grade 9, won the 100 butterfly and was second in the 50 free.
  • Ihita Mandal, grade 12, was second in the 200 free.
  • The 200 Free Relay team of Nageena Singh, grade 9, Cassandra Ruedy, grade 11, Chen and Mandal took second.
  • Matthew Chung, grade 10, won the 200 and 500 free.
  • Ethan Hu, grade 11, won the 200 individual medley and 100 breast.
  • Rhys Edwards, grade 10, won the 100 free and 100 back.
  • Andrew Chang, grade 10, was second in the 50 free.
  • Alex Yu, grade 12, was second in the 200 individual medley and 100 free.
  • The 200 medley relay team of Yu, Chang, Hu and Edwards took second.
  • The 400 free relay team of Yu, Hu, Chung and Edwards took first.

The Eagles are back in the pool this Thursday as they host another WBAL Jamboree at Singh Aquatic Center.

Last week, the lacrosse team defeated Lincoln High 13-7 to improve to 3-2 on the season. This week, the girls travel to Sequoia on Friday.

The boys tennis team picked up three wins last week as it defeated The King’s Academy 6-1, Pinewood 6-1 and Crystal Springs Uplands 5-2. This week, the boys host Crystal Springs Uplands on Monday and travels to The King’s Academy on Thursday.

Last week, the boys golf team defeated The King’s Academy 209-303 before suffering a rare loss, falling to Menlo 206-196. This week, the Eagles take on Sacred Heart Prep on Tuesday before traveling to Indio for the Champions Invitational.

Last week, the softball team lost to Notre Dame Belmont 2-14 to go to 1-5 on the season. The Eagles host El Camino on Tuesday and Mercy Burlingame on Thursday.

Boys volleyball continues to roll and softball picks up first win of the season

Boys Volleyball

The boys volleyball team defeated both Homestead and Cupertino 3-0 last week before heading south for the Best of the West Tournament. The Eagles proved that they are indeed one of the best teams in California as they took fifth place out of 32 elite teams from the West Coast and Hawaii. On day one of the tournament, the Eagles defeated Santa Barbara, Corona Del Mar and Westlake to win their pool. On day two, the Eagles defeated league-rival Monta Vista, before falling to tournament runner up Palisades, and then finishing off the event with a win over Westview for a 5-1 tournament showing. This week, the 12-1 Eagles host Saratoga on Wednesday.

Boys Tennis

Last week, the boys tennis team defeated Sacred Heart Prep 6-1 before falling to Menlo 2-5. This week, the boys host The King’s Academy on Monday before traveling to Pinewood on Tuesday and Crystal Springs Uplands on Thursday.

Softball

The softball team picked up its first win of the season as it defeated Crystal Springs Uplands 12-7 last week. Anika Rajamani, grade 12, led the Eagles with three hits and four RBIs, followed closely by Cameron Zell, grade 12, who added three hits and three RBIs. This week, the Eagles travel to Notre Dame Belmont on Thursday.

Baseball

The baseball team defeated Pinewood 7-5 last week to even its season record at 2-2. In the win, Max Lee, grade 11, and Zach Hoffman, grade 12, each had two hits and two RBIs. This week, the Eagles travel to Jefferson on Tuesday and host Crystal Springs Uplands on Thursday.

Lacrosse

The lacrosse team fell to Sacred Heart Prep 14-3 last week. The Eagles look to get back to their winning ways as they host Lincoln on Wednesday.

Swim

This Thursday, the Eagle swim team will host the first WBAL Jamboree at the Singh Aquatic Center at 4:30 p.m.

Track

This week, the Harker track and field team heads to Sacred Heart Prep on Wednesday for the first WBAL meet of the year.

Boys Golf

The boys golf team was rained out last week, but is back in action on Monday against The King’s Academy and Tuesday against Menlo.

Kudos

Congrats to Indigo Lee, grade 8, for recently being accepted to the Olympic Development Program for water polo. At the USA National Championships, Lee’s Bay Area development age group team placed third overall.

Boys volleyball leads the way as all spring sports are off and running

Boys Volleyball

The boys volleyball team started the 2019 season on fire as it defeated Branham, Mountain View and Lynbrook last week, all 3-0, to bring its season record to 5-0. The boys have not lost a set so far this year! This week, the Eagles host Homestead on Monday and Cupertino on Thursday.

Track and Field

Over the weekend, a small group of Eagles traveled to the Willow Glen Invitational to compete in the wind and rain. The varsity relay team of Andrew Chen, grade 9, Anton Novikov, grade 10, Mitch Granados, grade 12, and Gio Rofa, grade 11, finished third in the pouring rain to medal; sisters Erica and Teresa Cai, both grade 9, set personal bests in the mile; Natasha Matta, grade 9, won her heat in the 100-meter dash; and Ayush Vyas, grade 12, set a personal best in the shot put with a throw of 35 feet 1.5 inches. On March 13, the Eagles travel to Sacred Heart Prep for the first WBAL meet.

Lacrosse

The lacrosse team picked up a big 15-1 victory over Newark Memorial last week, before suffering its first loss of the season at the hands of Mountain View by a score of 6-13. This week, the 2-1 Eagles host Sacred Heart Prep on Tuesday and Saratoga on Friday.

Boys Tennis

Last week, the boys tennis team opened its season with a 7-0 win over visiting Nueva. This week, the boys travel to Sacred Heart Prep on Monday, before hosting Aragon Wednesday and Menlo and Thursday.

Baseball

The baseball team dropped two games last week bringing its early season record to 1-2. In a 6-11 loss to Prospect High, Zach Hoffman, grade 12, led the offense with two hits and two RBIs. Later in the week, the Eagles fell to Oak Grove 4-12. This week, the Eagles will be road warriors as they travel to Del Mar on Tuesday, Woodside on Thursday and Pinewood on Friday.

Swim

Last week, the Harker swim team competed at the Palo Alto Invitational. The boys 200 medley relay team of Rhys Edwards, Andrew Chang and Matthew Chung, all grade 10, and Alex Yu, grade 12, made its CCS cut time; the boys 200 free relay team of Chang, Chung, Yu and Arnav Joshi, grade 11, also made its CCS cut time; Matthew Chung was first in the 200 individual medley and the 100 fly, making CCS cut times in both, as well as making the cut time for the 50 free leading off the free relay; and Edwards also made a CCS cut time in the 50 free. Next up, the Eagles host the first WBAL Jamboree on March 14.

Softball

The softball team is still looking for its first win of the season as it dropped all three match ups last week. The girls dropped a tough 4-3 loss to Gunderson to open its season with Molly Mobley, grade 10, delivering with three hits and two RBIs. Then the Eagles fell to Notre Dame Belmont 3-20, and finished up the week with a 6-11 loss to Cupertino. This week, the Eagles travel to Crystal Springs Uplands on Tuesday before hosting Pinewood on Thursday.

Boys Golf

The Eagles travel to Fairfax to compete at the Wildcat Invitational on Monday before taking on Crystal Springs Uplands on Tuesday.

Spring sports open the season with an undefeated week

Lacrosse

Last week, the lacrosse team opened up its 2019 season with a 19-11 win over visiting Willow Glen. The Eagles host Newark on Monday and Mountain View on Wednesday.

Boys Volleyball

The boys volleyball team went 2-0 last week to kick off the season as it defeated Homestead 3-0 and Cupertino  3-0. The Eagles host Branham on Tuesday in their home-opener, then travel to Mountain View on Wednesday and Lynbrook on Friday.

Baseball

The baseball team opened its season with a 26-0 win over San Jose High. Big games from every Eagle, but Nick Coulter, grade 10, led the way with four hits, four runs and four RBIs. The Eagles travel to Prospect on Wednesday and Oak Grove on Friday.

Boys Golf

The boys golf team opened its season with a 184-265-275 win over The King’s Academy and Crystal Springs Uplands. Aditya Tadimeti, grade 10, and Jaimin Bhagat, grade 11, tied for medalist honors, each shooting a 36. The boys head to Livermore this Wednesday to compete at the Cowboy Classic.

Boys Tennis

The boys tennis team officially gets the season started on Monday as it hosts Nueva before hosting The King’s Academy on Tuesday and traveling to Sacred Heart Prep on Thursday.

Softball

The softball team gets its season going on Tuesday as it travels to Gunderson, before its home-opener on Thursday against Notre Dame Belmont, and then it’s back on the road on Friday to face off with Cupertino.

Track and Field

The track and field team will be off and running on March 13 as it opens the season with the first WBAL meet of the year at Sacred Heart Prep.

Swim

The Harker swim team begins its season traveling to the Palo Alto Invitational this Friday.

Last week, the boys soccer team’s season came to an end as it fell to King City High 4-1 in the semifinals of the D4 CCS playoffs. Congrats on a great season!

Boys soccer continues its CCS journey as spring sports begin


Boys Soccer

Last week, the boys soccer team lost to Sacred Heart Prep 3-0 and Menlo 6-2, but still qualified for the CCS D4 playoffs with a 13-5 record. In the opening round of CCS, the Eagles defeated Gunn High 3-2 for the program’s first-ever CCS win. The boys advanced to the semifinals on Wednesday to play the No. 1 seed King City. 

Girls Basketball

The girls basketball team lost its final regular season game of the year 41-65 against Mercy Burlingame with Akhila Ramgiri, grade 12, leading the way with 9 points. Even with the loss, the Eagles qualified for the CCS D4 brackets. However, the girls lost to James Lick 55-64 in the opening round of the playoffs. The Eagles ended the year with a 13-10 record.

Boys Basketball

Last week, the boys basketball team completed its regular season with a 77-50 win over Pinewood. Jack Connors, grade 11, led the offense with 19 points. The Eagles qualified for the CCS D4 playoffs, but came up short in the first round as they fell to Palma 53-62 ending the season with an 11-14 record. Jarrett Anderson, grade 12, ended his Harker career with a team-high 14 points.

Girls Soccer

The girls soccer team ended its season with an 8-7-3 record as it defeated Castilleja 2-1 last week.

Wrestling

At the SCVAL Championships last week, Eric Fang, grade 11, placed seventh overall in his weight class. 

Spring Sports

Spring sports are off and running this week as baseball opens its season on the road against San Jose High on Wednesday; boys volleyball travels to Homestead on Wednesday and Cupertino on Friday; and lacrosse opens its season on Friday at home against Willow Glen. Boys tennis opens at home on Feb. 25 against Nueva; softball travels to Gunderson High on Feb. 26; boys golf kicks off its season at the Cowboy Classic on Feb. 27; swimming takes to the pool at the Palo Alto Invitational on March 1; and track and field opens at the first WBAL meet at Sacred Heart Prep on March 13.

Winter teams looking for a late surge to make CCS playoffs

Boys Soccer

The boys soccer team improved to 13-3 as it picked up two more wins last week, taking care of Crystal Springs Uplands 4-1 and Eastside College Prep 4-2. This week, the Eagles face off with the top two teams in the WBAL, still with a chance to take a league title. On Monday the Eagles host undefeated Sacred Heart Prep and Wednesday they travel to Menlo.

Girls Soccer

Last week, the girls soccer team defeated Mercy SF 6-1 to improve to 9-6-3 on the year. The girls travel to Castilleja on Monday to wrap up their regular season.

Boys Basketball

The boys basketball team had a rough week as it dropped two league matchups bringing its season record to 10-13. In a 40-51 loss to Menlo, Jack Connors, grade 11, led the offense with 8 points. Later in the week, the Eagles fell to The King’s Academy 49-66 with Trevor Thompson, grade 12, dropping in 10 points. This week, the boys finish off the regular season hosting Pinewood on Tuesday.

Girls Basketball

The girls basketball team went 1-1 last week to bring its season record to 13-8. Early in the week, the Eagles lost to Castilleja 44-53, but Akhila Ramgiri, grade 12, had a great game, scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Later in the week, the girls bounced back to defeat The King’s Academy 40-39 with Ramgiri delivering another double double, this time with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Eagles wrap up their regular season on Tuesday as they travel to Mercy SF.

Winter sports making a push heading into the final two weeks of the season

Girls Basketball

The girls basketball team improved to 12-7 on the year as it picked up two big league wins last week. The girls started the week with a tight 44-40 win over Mercy Burlingame on Senior Night. Akhila Ramgiri, grade 12, led the way with 19 points, with Maria Vazhaeparambil, grade 10, adding 16 points. Later in the week, the Eagles took care of Crystal Springs Uplands 53-15. The Eagles travel to Castilleja on Tuesday and The King’s Academy on Friday.

Boys Basketball

The boys basketball team went 2-1 last week to up its record to 10-11 on the year. The boys started the week with a 62-49 win over Crystal Springs Uplands led by 18 points from Giovanni Rofa, grade 11, and an impressive 13-point, 12-rebound game from Jack Connors, grade 11. Later in the week, the Eagles defeated Woodside Priory 46-39 in overtime with Connors leading the way with 14 points. Finally, over the weekend, the boys fell to Eastside College Prep 34-61 with Rofa leading the offense with 7 points. This week, the Eagles are on the road with a Tuesday matchup at Menlo followed by a Thursday game at The King’s Academy.

Girls Soccer

The girls soccer team opened last week with a 3-0 win over Eastside College Prep, but then dropped a 0-4 matchup with Notre Dame San Jose and a 0-1 match with Crystal Springs Uplands. The 8-6-3 Eagles currently sit in third place in the WBAL Skyline Division and look to make a push for the postseason as they take on Mercy SF Tuesday at Davis Field.

Boys Soccer

Last week, the boys soccer team defeated The King’s Academy 5-0 and Woodside Priory 5-2 to improve to 11-3 on the year. The Eagles currently sit in third place in the WBAL, and are within two games of the two teams in front of them in the standings. This week, the boys travel to Crystal Springs Uplands on Tuesday and host Eastside College Prep on Thursday.

Wrestling

The Harker wrestling team takes to the mat again as it competes at the SCVAL Championships beginning on Friday.
