The boys soccer team ended the regular season with its first loss of the year, 0-2 to The King’s Academy, but won the league title for the first time in school history and was given the No. 2 seed in the CCS Division 2 playoffs. The boys will host Santa Cruz on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., the first playoff hosting opportunity in school history for a boys team.
Boys Basketball
The boys basketball team won the last two games of its regular season to secure a spot in the CCS Division 4 playoffs. In a 47-39 win over Pinewood, Jack Connors, grade 10, led the offense with 14 points. Later in the week, the Eagles defeated Sacred Heart Prep 68-56 behind 17 points from Connors and 15 points from Eric Jeong, grade 12. The Eagles will host Terra Nova on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the first round of CCS playoffs.
Girls Basketball
Ending the season with two wins, the girls basketball team will host Pacific Grove on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the first round of the CCS Division 4 playoffs. The Eagles defeated The King’s Academy 57-52 behind 25 points from Selin Sayiner, grade 12, followed by a 44-36 win over Crystal Springs Uplands with Maria Vazhaeparambil, grade 9, leading the Eagles with 16 points.
Girls Soccer
The girls soccer team ended the final week of its season with a 2-1 win over Pinewood before falling to Mercy Burlingame 1-4. The Eagles ended their season with a 9-8-1 record.
Last week, the boys soccer team picked up two more wins to bring its season record to 14-0-3. The Eagles defeated Menlo 2-1, followed by a historic 2-0 win over Eastside College Prep to give the boys soccer program its first league title in school history. The boys look to finish up an undefeated regular season at The King’s Academy on Monday before starting CCS next week.

Last week, the girls soccer team tied Notre Dame San Jose 1-1 to bring its season record to 8-7-1. The Eagles sit in third place in the WBAL Skyline division, just a half game out of second place. This week, the girls travel to Castilleja on Monday before hosting Mercy Burlingame on Wednesday for a Valentine’s Senior Day.

On Feb. 1, the girls basketball team lost to Castilleja 37-45, with Satchi Thockchom, grade 12, leading the Eagles with 10 points. Then last week, the Eagles defeated Mercy Burlingame 61-43 on Senior Night. Selin Sayiner, grade 12, scored 17 points to lead the offense. The Eagles finish the season on the road as they travel to The King’s Academy on Tuesday and Crystal Springs Uplands on Thursday.

The boys basketball team dropped two league games last week. In a 40-65 loss to Menlo, Richard Wang, grade 11, and Jarrett Anderson, grade 11, each had 10 points to lead the Eagles. Later in the week, the boys fell to The King’s Academy 56-67 with Anderson dropping 16 points and Jack Connors, grade 10, adding 15 points. The Eagles finish their season this week as they travel to Pinewood on Tuesday before hosting Sacred Heart Prep for Senior Night on Friday.

In the win over the Gryphons, Akhila Ramgiri, grade 11, led the scoring with 15 points. This week, the Eagles travel to Mercy SF on Tuesday and host Castilleja on Thursday.

The boys soccer team stayed undefeated at 11-0-2 after a 4-1 win over Eastside College Prep and a 6-0 win over Woodside Priory last week. On Wednesday, the Eagles host Crystal Springs Uplands, followed by a trip to Sacred Heart Prep on Friday.

Last week, the girls soccer team fell to Mercy Burlingame 0-3 before defeating Eastside College Prep 1-0 later in the week. This week, the Eagles host Mercy SF on Tuesday before traveling to Pinewood on Thursday.

Later in the week, the boys defeated Crystal Springs Uplands 83-36. Jarrett Anderson, grade 11, led the scoring with 21 points, with Jack Connors, grade 10, adding 15 points. This week, the 9-9 Eagles travel to Woodside Priory on Tuesday and Eastside College Prep on Friday.

Satchi Thockchom, grade 12, led the Eagles with 19 points, with Ramgiri adding 16 points and Dylan Williams, grade 9, adding 12 points. This week, the 5-8 Eagles host Crystal Springs Uplands on Tuesday and Notre Dame San Jose on Friday.

In its lone contest of the week, the girls basketball team defeated Mercy Burlingame 57-39 behind 17 points from Akhila Ramgiri, grade 11, and 15 points from Satchi Thockchom, grade 12. This week, the Eagles take on Castilleja in Palo Alto on Wednesday before hosting The King’s Academy on Friday.

The boys basketball team had a rough week as it dropped two league games. First, in a close 47-43 loss to Eastside College Prep, Jarrett Anderson, grade 11, led the offense with 18 points. Later in the week, the boys were defeated by Menlo 68-35. Trevor Thompson, grade 11, led Harker with nine points. This week, the Eagles travel to The King’s Academy on Tuesday and host Pinewood on Friday.
The boys basketball team picked up two impressive wins last week. First, the Eagles defeated Crystal Springs Uplands 74-38 behind 13 points from Eric Jeong, grade 12, and 12 points from Peter Connors, grade 12. Later in the week, the boys defeated a very tall Woodside Priory team 73-62, with Jack Connors, grade 10, leading the way with 17 points, including five three-pointers. The 8-4 Eagles take on Eastside College Prep this Tuesday at home before traveling to Menlo on Thursday.

The girls soccer team won both matches last week as it defeated Eastside College Prep 3-0 and Mercy SF 7-1. The Eagles host Pinewood on Tuesday at Davis Field at 3:30 p.m.
Boys Soccer
The boys soccer team won its fourth and fifth straight matches last week as it defeated The King’s Academy 4-1 and Monta Vista 6-0. The 6-0-1 Eagles travel to Priory this Wednesday and Crystal Springs Uplands on Friday.
Girls Basketball
The girls basketball team dropped two games last week. Notre Dame San Jose defeated the Eagles 76-31 early in the week with Maria Vazhaeparambil, grade 9, leading the way with nine points. Later in the week, the girls fell to Mercy SF 77-29. The Eagles travel to the College of San Mateo to take on Mercy Burlingame this Saturday.
Football
Congrats to Dominic Cea, grade 12, on being named to the third team of the All-Bay Area News Group offensive team. Athletes from Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara and San Mateo counties were recognized for their achievements on the gridiron this past fall season. Cea went 56 for 59 on extra points and seven of eight on field-goal attempts as a kicker, helping the Eagles to their best season in school history. Check out the full list here:
Over the last few weeks, the girls basketball team was defeated by Woodside and was victorious over Yerba Buena. In the 40-51 loss to Woodside, Akhila Ramgiri, grade 11, led the offense with 17 points. Then, in their inaugural game at the new Athletic Center, the girls defeated Yerba Buena 59-19 behind 13 points from Ramgiri and 10 points from Maria Vazhaeparambil, grade 9. This week, the Eagles travel to Notre Dame San Jose on Wednesday and host Mercy SF on Friday.
Boys Basketball
The boys basketball team stayed busy during the holidays as it went 2-2 over the last few weeks. The Eagles stared off with a 55-70 loss to Woodside, with Richard Wang, grade 11, leading Harker with 17 points. The boys bounced back with a 63-53 win over Monta Vista with Eric Jeong, grade 12, dropping 22 points, and Jarrett Anderson, grade 11, adding 17 points. The Eagles then played their first-ever game in the new Athletic Center, but were defeated by Redwood Christian 62-54. Wang scored 12 points with Anderson adding 11 points. Finally, the Eagles ended their break with a 58-37 win over Del Mar. Jack Connors, grade 10, led the Eagles with 10 points. This week, the boys host Crystal Springs on Wednesday and Priory on Thursday.

The boys soccer team improved to 4-0-1 as it defeated Valley Christian Dublin 15-0. This Wednesday the Eagles host The King’s Academy on Wednesday.
Girls Soccer
The girls soccer team was defeated by Alisal 0-4 before the break. This week the girls host Eastside College Prep on Tuesday and travel to Mercy SF on Friday.
The boys soccer team improved to 3-0-1 on the season after a 3-0 win over Saratoga and a 5-3 win over Leigh last week. This Friday, the Eagles host Valley Christian on Davis Field.
Boys Basketball
The boys basketball team had an impressive showing at the Lynbrook Tournament last week, going 2-1 and finishing second. The Eagles defeated North Monterey County 56-43 behind 10 points from Richard Wang, grade 11, in the opening round game. In the second round, the boys picked up a hard-fought 86-85, double OT win over host Lynbrook, with Eric Jeong, grade 12, scoring 21 points and Gene Wang, grade 11, adding 18 points. However, the Eagles fell to Mills 38-52 in the finals. Jarrett Anderson, grade 11, had 12 points in the loss. Next up for the Eagles is a trip to Woodside High on Saturday.
Girls Basketball
The girls basketball team went 1-2 at the Santa Clara Tourney last week. In their 20-70 opening round defeat by Edison, Satchi Thockchom, grade 12, led the way with six points. The Eagles bounced back in their second round matchup, defeating Hill 54-30 with Akhila Ramgiri, grade 11, leading the offense with 15 points. The girls dropped their final game 45-67 against Lowell, with Ramgiri scoring 11 points and Thockchom adding 10 points. This Saturday, the girls play at Woodside High.

Swim
Congratulations to Ethan Hu, grade 10, and Vivian Wang, grade 12, on their strong showing at the USA Winter Junior Nationals. Hu won the 100 yard butterfly and Wang won the B final in the 100 breaststroke. Hu and Wang are coming off a Harker swim season last spring in which both finished fourth in the state finals in their respective strokes.
Last week, the girls soccer team opened its season with a 0-2 loss to Independence and a 0-3 loss to Half Moon Bay. This week, the Eagles travel to North Monterey County High on Wednesday before hosting O’Connell High on Friday.

The boys soccer team opened its season with a bang as it defeated Mills 7-0. Later in the week, the Eagles played to a 1-1 tie with Wilcox. This week, the boys host Saratoga on Wednesday and travel to Leigh on Friday.
Girls Basketball
Last week, the girls basketball team traveled to the Pescadero Tournament, where it went 2-1. In their opening matchup with host Pescadero, the Eagles defeated the Vikings 73-22 behind 20 points from Satchi Thockchom, grade 12. The Eagles lost a close 48-50 matchup with Alma Heights Christian in the second round, with Akhila Ramgiri, grade 11, scoring 22 points. In their final game, the girls defeated Point Arena 60-45, with Ramgiri leading the way again with 17 points. This Wednesday, the Eagles travel to the Santa Clara Tournament to take on Edison High.
Boys Basketball
The boys basketball team opened up the regular season with a 2-1 showing at the James Lick Tournament last week. In the opening game, the Eagles were defeated by Wilcox 72-56, with Eric Jeong, grade 12, leading the offense with 14 points. Richard Wang, grade 11, led the team with 11 points as the Eagles defeated Hill 53-42 in their second game. Finally, the Eagles defeated host James Lick 78-56 on Saturday night. This Thursday, the boys play North Monterey County in the opening round of the Lynbrook Winter Classic
Fall Season All-League
The Harker Eagles had a great fall season and were well represented in the WBAL All-League teams. For cross country, Anna Weirich, grade 9, was awarded first team honors, with Lilia Gonzales, grade 11, and Ryan Adolf, grade 11, receiving honorable mentions. The girls golf team made a huge impact on the All-League teams as Katherine Zhu, grade 12, Katelyn Vo, grade 10, and Natalie Vo, grade 9, were all named to the first team; Olivia Guo, grade 9, was given second team honors; and Alisa Su, grade 12, Larissa Tyagi, grade 10, and Vanessa Tyagi, grade 12, each earned honorable mentions.
In girls tennis, Gina Partridge, grade 10, and Santu Tirumala, grade 9, were named to the first team, with Rachel Broweleit, grade 10, and Srivani Vegesna, grade 10, earning second team honors, and Kathleen Cheng, grade 12, receiving an honorable mention.
The girls volleyball team had two seniors earn All-League honors with Lauren Napier, grade 12, receiving a second team nod and Isabella Spradlin, grade 12, landing an honorable mention.
In the pool, Meghana Karinthi, grade 12, and Abigail Wisdom, grade 11, each earned a first team honors and Claudia Opris, grade 11, earned an honorable mention in girls water polo. On the boys side, Aadith Srinivasan, grade 12, received a first team honor, while Bobby Bloomquist, grade 11, made the second team and Matthew Hajjar, grade 11, was an honorable mention.

VA Flag Football (grade 8): The Varsity A team, coached by Richard Amarillas and Tim Hopkins, finished in fifth place in the WBAL with a record of 0-7 and went 1-8 overall. Team awards went to Richard Amarillas and Sam Boucher (Eagle), and Marcus Page and Ethan Huang (Coaches).
VB Flag Football (grade 7): The Varsity B team, coached by Mike Delfino and Edward LeGrand-Sawyer, finished in fifth place in the WBAL with a 2-4 record and went 3-4 overall. Team awards went to Armaan Thakker (MVP), Zain Vakath and Dylan Parikh (Eagle) and Rohan Gorti (Coaches).
JVA Flag Football (grade 6): The Junior Varsity A team, coached by Dan Pringle and Matt Arensberg, finished in sixth place in the WBAL with a 0-4 record and went 1-5 overall. Team awards went to Om Tandon (MVP), Thomas Egbert (Eagle) and Jack Ledford (Coaches).
JVB Flag Football (grade 5): The Junior Varsity B team, coached by Walid Fahmy and Tobias Wade, finished in fifth place in the WBAL with a 0-4 record and went 0-5 overall. Team awards went to Drew Diffenderfer (MVP), Vyom Vidyarthi (Eagle) and Liam Jeffers (Coaches).
LS Intramural Flag Football (grade 4): Team awards went to Brennan Williams (MVP), Topaz Lee (Eagle) and Rishaan Thoppay (Coaches). The team was coached by Karriem Stinson and Kristian Tiopo.

JVA Softball: The Junior Varsity A team, coached by Jon Cvitanich and Brittney Moseley, was the WBAL league champ with a record of 4-0 and went 5-0 overall. Team awards went to Maya Kelly, grade 6 (MVP), Saira Ramakrishnan, grade 5 (Eagle) and Isha Kotalwar, grade 6 (Coaches).
LS Intramural Softball (grade 4): Team awards went to Mackenzie Chadwick (MVP), Tanvi Sivakumar (Eagle) and Minal Jalil (Coaches). The team was coached by Julie Meline.
MS Swimming: Team awards went to Michael Tran, grade 8 (MVP), Linette Hoffman, grade 7, and Logan Braun, grade 6 (Eagle), and Carlo Banzon, grade 7, and Eira Saraff, grade 6. Unfortunately, the WBAL finals were cancelled due to poor air-quality issues. However, we did have a few first place finishers in the Castilleja meet. Michael Tran (50 fly, 100 freestyle relay and 100 medley relay), Heidi Lu, grade 6 (25 backstroke), Elvis Han, grade 8 (50 backstroke and 100 free relay), Nika Lebedev, grade 7 (100 individual relay), Sascha Pakravan, grade 8 (100 free relay), Willian Zhao, grade 8 (100 free relay and 100 medley relay), Carlo Banzon, grade 7 (100 medley relay) and Kai Burich, grade 8 (100 medley relay).
LS Swimming: Team awards went to Shwetha Sundar, grade 4, and Nikhil Pesati, grade 5 (Eagle), and Kaan Kurtoglu, grade 4, and Disha Gupta, grade 4 (Coaches).
MS Cross Country: Team awards went to Dawson Chen, grade 8, and Ashley Barth, grade 8 (MVP), Shahzeb Lakhani, grade 8, and Emma Gao, grade 6 (Eagle), and Alex Liou, grade 8, and Trisha Iyer, grade 6 (Coaches). Unfortunately, the WBAL finals were cancelled due to the poor air quality issues. However, we did have a few first place finishers in the league meets. Our grade 8 boys team took first place at the Crystal Springs Relays and our grade 7/8 boys team took first place at the Harker Meet.
MS Golf: The middle school golf team was league champs of the WBAL Fall tournament, winning by 10 strokes. The top golfer of the tournament was Claire Chen, grade 7 (35), followed by Freddy Hoch, grade 7 (37), Marcus Page, grade 8 (38) and Athreya Daniel, grade 7 (40).
