Earlier this month, sixth grader Rory Hu visited the White House for a segment that will air tomorrow on Nickelodeon’s “Nick News” at 7 p.m. She attended a press briefing hosted by Jen Psaki, White House press secretary, who she also interviewed during her visit. Hu also had the chance to sit down with CBS senior White House correspondent Ed O’Keefe and received a tour of the White House.
This Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., Harker sixth grader Rory Hu will appear in a segment of Nickelodeon’s “Nick News,” interviewing Janet Yellen, the first woman to become the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury. The interview will cover topics such as the nation’s economy and the American Women Quarters Program. Hu also will be featured in a tour of the U.S. Mint.
On Wednesday, sixth grader Rory Hu appeared on an episode of Nickelodeon’s “Nick News” to host a segment about The Turtle Hospital, a Florida-based organization that rescues and cares for injured sea turtles. Hu met and interviewed the hospital’s staff, toured the facility and watched a surgeon remove a tumor.
Last year, Hu was selected to be a reporter by TIME for Kids, where she wrote recommendations for books and interviewed figures such as Apple CEO Tim Cook. She was later chosen to be a Nick News host after a successful audition.
