Last month, Harker upper school dance groups Kinetic Krew and the Harker Dance Company took first place in three categories in the United Spirit Association’s Dance Regional II contest. Kinetic Krew took first in the Hip Hop category, while Harker Dance Company, split into two teams, won in Championship Contemporary and JV Jazz. As first place winners, each team is now eligible to compete at the USA Dance Nationals, to be held March 21-23 in Anaheim. The United Spirit Association, whose roots stretch back to the 1950s, provides yearly events and instruction for high school spirit, dance and band groups throughout the western United States.
