Last week, eighth grader Shreyas Karnam was named the winner in the grades 6-8 category of the National Chemistry Week Illustrated Poem Contest, held as part of the American Chemical Society’s National Chemistry Week. The theme of the contest was “The Healing Power of Chemistry,” and Karnam’s work combined illustration and words to convey the health benefits of chemicals found in various fruits.
