Over the summer, Harker’s National Chinese Honor Society chapter held another session of its Little Star program, which offers tutoring in English to children in rural China via Zoom. Started last year by Yinan Zhou ’25 with the help of upper school Chinese teacher Yi Jiang, the program was taught by eight Harker NCHS members over several weeks. A total of 15 students from Yuezhuang Central Elementary School in China’s Shandong province attended the program. The school showed its appreciation by sending special certificates to NCHS members, along with thank-you cards created by the students. Zhou also visited the school in person during the summer to give them a live lesson.
